Hamantaschen 🎭

Queen Esther's treat!

What’s Cooking Today? 👩🏻‍🍳

Ever wonder how you get the triangular shape? Follow the step by step guide, starting with a circle. Hamantaschen can have so many varieties of fillings, but I have used children’s favourites.

Let’s make some Hamantaschen 🎭🍷🥟🎉✨

This is what you will need for this recipe: 🥣 🥄

Ingredients  🌾🥚🍚🧂🛢️
• 230g Flour (1¾ Cups)
• 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
• 100g Sugar (½ Cup)
• Pinch Salt
• 2 Eggs, well beaten
• 90mls Oil (6 Tablespoons)
• ½ Lemon Rind, grated

Fillings 🍓🍇 🍭🍫
• Jam
• Parev Chocolate Spread or Melted Chocolate Chips
• Sprinkles

Method 📖
1. Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 190°C (375°F).
2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
3. Prepare the eggs: Crack and check the eggs. Beat them until well mixed, then add to the dry ingredients.
4. Add oil and lemon rind: Pour in the oil and add the grated lemon rind.
5. Make the dough: Mix everything together until a smooth dough forms.
6. Roll and cut: Roll out the dough and use round cookie cutters to cut into circles.
7. Add filling: Place a small blob of jam, chocolate spread, or your chosen filling in the centre of each round.
8. Shape into triangles: Bring up the sides to form a triangle and pinch the edges to seal.
9. Bake: Place on a baking tray and bake for 20 minutes until golden.
10. Cool and package: Allow to cool, then add to Mishloach Manot bags to share with friends and family.

Enjoy!

Don’t Forget! 📌

You can store the Hamantaschen for about two weeks, but that has never lasted that long in my house! For a variation, use grated orange peels instead of lemon.
